Assalaamu Alaikum,



The Rochdale Council of Mosques announces that due to positive moon sightings the month of Ramaḍān will end 29 days and the 1st of Shawwal 1445AH – Eid al Fitr – will be on Monday 31st March 2025 Inshā’Allāh

Eid Salaah will take place at the Eidgah Musallah Inshā’Allāh at Springfield Park, Rochdale – Join us for Eid Ṣalāh and some light refreshments!

Dress warmly and come EARLY.

Do not forget to pay you fitranah (£5.00 per person which can be done at the Masjid using a card machine or via cash)

The Khutbah will start at 12.30pm and 1.00pm promptly and the masjid will be evacuated immediately afterwards, adhering to social distancing. Sunan and Nawafil to be performed at home.

Masjid re-opens for congregational prayer as Lockdown uplifted

Assalaamu-alaikum-warahmatullahi-wabarakatuh.

With the Grace and Mercy of Allah Ta’ala, Central Masjid Rochdale will open its doors for congregation prayer starting from Wednesday 2 December.

The prayer times for Jamaat will be as follows:

  1. Fajr 7.15am
  2. Zuhr 12.45pm
  3. Asr 2.30pm
  4. Maghrib (sunset)
  5. Isha 7.00pm (6.30pm on weekends)

The Masjid operates in a COVID secure environment and everyone is reminded to maintain social distancing at all times, wear a face mask, bring your own prayer mat and adhere to the latest government guidance.

May Allah Ta’ala protect us all and shower us with His Mercy

Chocolate Chip Cookies

Ingredients

  • 140g butter
  • 50g caster sugar
  • 60g soft dark brown sugar
  • 1 medium egg
  • ½ tsp vanilla essence
  • 125g plain flour
  • ½ tsp bicarbonate of soda
  • 150g plain chocolate chips

Method:

Preheat the oven to 180°C/ gas mark 4, 10 minutes prior to baking.
Using 15g of the butter, lightly butter 3-4 large baking sheets.
Blend both sugars and the remaining butter in a food processor until smooth.
Add the egg and vanilla essence to the mixture and blend. Then place this mixture into a large bowl.
Sift the flour and bicarbonate of soda together and mix into the creamed mixture.
Once the mixture is thoroughly mixed stir in the chocolate chips.
Using a teaspoon place heaped spoonfuls of the mixture onto the baking sheets, spaced well apart and bake in the preheated oven for approximately 10-12 minutes until lightly golden.
Leave to cool and transfer to a wire rack.
Best eaten when just cooked but can be stored for a few days.
Makes approximately 30 cookies

Millionaires Shortbread

Ingredients
1/2 Ib butter
1/2 cup icing sugar
1/2 cup corn flour
1 tsp Vanilla essence
Flour as needed.

Caramel topping

2 oz butter
1 cup icing sugar
3 full tblsp caramel treat
Whisk together

METHOD


For the biscuit:
Beat together the butter and icing sugar until creamy. Add in the vanilla and corn flour and mix a little.
Lastly add just as much flour as needed to form a firm but soft dough.
Either press it into a rectangular baking pan, or roll out thickly onto a floured surface and cut into desired shapes with a cookie cutter.
Bake in a moderate pre-heated oven until golden.
Remove from oven and allow to cool.
For the topping:
Whisk together the butter and icing sugar. Add in the caramel and mix well.
Leave in fridge to set for a while.
Pipe caramel mixture onto biscuits and freeze for an hour.
Coat the whole biscuit in melted chocolate and decorate by dribbling melted white chocolate over
